Literature Search

Create & search within curated literature collections

Create a literature collection in order to:

  • Search by target or other keywords and criteria
  • Label papers with custom labels (e.g. "Reviewed", "In progress", "Not relevant", etc...)
  • View abstracts and full text

Add papers as evidence to targets and biomarkers.  In doing this, a scientist can:

  • Update score, status, and rationale
  • Add comments & notes on literature evidence in the context of a given target

Creating a literature collection

From your lab space, click the search icon, then "Literature". Click "+ Collection", and give your collection and name and description, then click "Create Collection".  Next, enter the keywords, enter a date range, and select your source types to build your collection criteria

Note - For best results, use broad keywords and criteria at this step. You will be able to search more narrowly within a collection once it is created.

Click "Update collection criteria", and Pluto will retrieve all results that fit your criteria.

From here, you have the option to update your collection criteria, or, click "Finish editing and proceed" if you are happy with your results.

Working with a literature collection

Within your collection you can add labels to use as custom filters (e.g. "Not relevant", "Reviewed", etc...), narrow your results by adding additional search terms, and applying filters such as publication date range, PubMed ID, and DOI

This is also where a paper can be added as evidence (add link) to a biomarker, or target list
