Requesting new GEO experiments in Pluto

Comparison and visualization to published data has never been easier!

Written by Andrew Goodspeed

Our mission with providing our free Pluto Explore resource is to make published data widely accessible, in a useful and interactive format.

If you are interested in visualizing an experiment that's been published on GEO let us know! We can import it into Pluto.

To request an experiment be added, visit the Explore tab in Pluto and click the "Submit it here" link at the bottom of the left sidebar.

Tip: Before requesting an experiment from GEO, you can use the "Search" bar at the top of the left sidebar to look up your GEO accession ID of interest to see if the dataset is already available in Pluto.

Next, you simply input the GEO accession ID for your study of interest into the box labeled "GEO Accession ID" and click "Submit GEO Request". It's that easy!

You'll be able to see all GEO requests made by your organization on the right side of the screen under "Your Organization Requests". This is where you can check to see what requests your organization has made, and what the status of each request is. At the top of the screen, under "Imported Experiment Limit", you will also be able to track how many GEO requests are available for your organization.

After you submit a request for a new GEO experiment, it will take a few days until the experiment is ready for you to access in Pluto. You can check the status of your experiments by navigating back to the Explore tab in Pluto and clicking the "status of your requests" link at the bottom of the left sidebar.

Once an import request has been completed, you'll be able to make a copy of that experiment for your own use (starting with raw FASTQs or processed data) by clicking the "Copy" action button.
