What is multiplexing?

Combining multiple samples into one sequencing experiment

Adapters containing indexes/barcodes label sequences so sample libraries can be pooled together into one experiment while the original location of that sequence is still maintained. This allows more samples to be sequenced at once with roughly the same compute time (click here for more information).
