What is RPKM?

Reads per kilobase of transcript per million reads

A unit of measurement based on the number of counts mapped to a gene scaled by both the total number of counts and the length of the fragment.

Recommendations for use: gene count comparisons between genes within a sample; NOT for between sample comparisons or DE analysis.
