Confluence + Pluto

Embed live bioinformatics analysis results in Confluence to share findings with other organization stakeholders

Overview

Confluence is a powerful corporate wiki tool for creating and sharing rich documents and reports with stakeholders within your organization. You can easily share scientific results with other teams by embedding interactive plots that you created in Pluto directly into your Confluence pages.

Embed an interactive Pluto plot in Confluence

On the plot in Pluto, first click the "..." menu and select Embed.

Set the link sharing to Public if you would like your team members to be able to see the plot in Confluence without requiring them to be logged into Pluto themselves. Note: Only users who have been given the direct link (i.e. employees with access to your Confluence page) will be able to see the plot.

Copy the direct link to the plot from Pluto, which will be pasted into Confluence in the next step:

In Confluence, use the + button in the menu to add an iframe widget. Paste the url from Pluto into the URL field and use the Height and Width fields to specify the size that you want the plot to display.

When you publish the page in Confluence, page viewers will now be able to see the interactive plot and view its corresponding analysis methods. Any updates made to the analysis in Pluto will automatically be reflected in your Confluence doc, ensuring your team is always up to date! 🎉
